Chapter 03
Elven Queen
Despite the threatening words, Murong Xiao didn’t feel a hint of fear. However, he knew that staying here like a sitting duck wouldn’t be good, so he went along with the elven soldiers, who escorted him at weapon-point to the cabin door.
As the door opened, the intense light outside forced Murong Xiao to squint, but his adaptability was exceptional, and he quickly adjusted to the sunlight to take in the scenery.
The starship was hovering in mid-air. Beneath it was a colossal platform crafted from various strangely shaped stones, surrounded by a dense crowd of elves.
Though he didn’t understand their language, Murong Xiao could tell from their tone that they weren’t saying anything pleasant; their eyes were filled with such hatred he felt they wanted to tear him apart on the spot.
Before Murong Xiao could finish observing, he suddenly felt a push from behind. Forcibly, he was shoved off the starship and onto the platform…
His head buzzed, but due to his sturdy physique as a cyborg, he didn’t suffer any major injuries and quickly recovered.
At this moment, an elven elder draped in a long robe teleported to his side. Holding a large wooden staff, she shouted aggressively at him in a language he couldn’t understand, seemingly declaring some kind of solemn ritual.
When the shouting ceased, the elven elder raised a palm, held it in the air over the back of his head, and began chanting a profound, ancient spell.
As green energy began to emanate from the elder’s body, the stone ground beneath Murong Xiao’s feet suddenly sprouted green vines at a visible rate. The vines accelerated, and in the blink of an eye, they reached his face.
This made him feel very uncomfortable. Just as Murong Xiao wanted to dodge, he realized he had been placed under a binding spell and couldn’t move at all. He could only watch helplessly as the vines drew closer and closer, finally touching his forehead.
In an instant, an incredibly dazzling, colorful light erupted from the point of contact, blinding the elven elder and the surrounding elves.
Fortunately, it didn’t last long. After a few seconds, the blinding light rapidly dimmed, and everything returned to normal as if nothing had happened.
The air distorted, and a moment later, a female elf wearing a luxurious light-purple gown, draped in a pale blue cape, and holding a scepter stepped out from within.
Seeing her face, the elven elder and the other elves all gasped in shock before dropping to one knee in a gesture of respect and excitement.
Indeed, the one who had appeared was the Elven Queen, Letitia.
Letitia spoke to the elder in the elven language, and the elderās expression turned into one of shock, followed by a look of terror as she stared at Murong Xiao.
Letitia tapped her scepter, and a spatial crack appeared beneath Murong Xiaoās feetāit was an offer he couldn’t refuse.
His vision went black. When Murong Xiao opened his eyes again, he found himself in a space that appeared to be the interior of a tree hollow. Not only was there a pool of glowing water, but blue glowing crystals on the tree walls provided illumination.
As he looked around, he was surprised to find another person hereāa woman.
She looked to be around twenty, with long, pitch-black hair. Her entire temperament felt very strange to Murong Xiaoāvery intimidating, yet lacking even a trace of malice.
Seeing Murong Xiao staring at her with such curiosity, the woman smiled and asked in the language of Blue Star: “What is your name?”
Murong Xiao didn’t answer, but the young woman wasn’t impatient and waited with a calm demeanor.
Before long, the air beside Murong Xiao distorted again, and the Elven Queen, Letitia, stepped through.
“Die, sorry for the wait.”
“It’s nothing. But are you sure? The human you brought back… does he have a defect in his emotions? Why is he so expressionless?”
The woman called “Die” didn’t seem afraid of Murong Xiao. While asking, she curiously reached out to poke his cold, emotionless face, appearing quite intrigued by everything about him.
Letitia glanced at Murong Xiao and spoke briefly…
Letitia seemed to want Murong Xiao to understand as well, so she spoke in the human tongue.
To put it simply, his body contained the lingering aura of many elven people. After finding him and bringing him back, the elven elder wanted to use the power of the Ancient Tree of Life to probe his memories. If those elves had indeed been killed by Murong Xiao, he would be subjected to torture until death, and then their energy would be returned to the Tree of Life. However, during the process, they had discovered something incredible.
“What! This boy’s elemental affinity is actually one hundred percent!”
Letitia nodded firmly and continued: “If the Ancient Tree of Life hadn’t told me, I wouldn’t have known.”
The woman called “Die” had originally just been poking Murong Xiao’s face out of boredom, but upon hearing this, her attitude shifted to one of jealousy, and she pinched his cheeks. One hundred percent elemental affinity! That meant Murong Xiao could learn any magic. How could she not be jealous?
Letitia shot her favorite companion a look, then looked at Murong Xiao, continuing unhurriedly: “Originally, he didn’t have such high talent. The reason he has it now is because he is a semi-finished cyborg.”
“A cyborg?”
The woman stopped her poking and then looked at Murong Xiao with curious eyes: “No wonder I felt the aura on this kid was so strange, and his emotions so cold. If he’s a cyborg, then it’s not so strange.”
Letitia nodded and then calmly posed the options to Murong Xiao: “I will give you two choices now. The first choice is for me to take back the life force I gave you. When the time comes, the elven energy fused within your body will return to the Ancient Tree of Life, and one day those elves will be reborn. Given that you didn’t become a cyborg voluntarily, I can try not to let you suffer too much pain. The second choice is to enter the Pool of Life nearby and undergo the baptism of the Ancient Tree of Life and elven energy, to become an elf and join our race.”
I have translated the third chapter for you. Let me know if you would like to continue with the story!
