Chapter : 08
The Rich Young Master’s Ex-Girlfriend (8)
“You can take today off. Don’t go anywhere else. I’ll be back early tonight. If there’s a need, I’ll send someone to pick you up at any time.”
After giving these instructions, Leng Rui picked up his briefcase and left.
Leng Ziyue’s heart jolted violently. Back early tonight??
If there’s a need, he’ll send someone to pick her up??
So, was Xiao Guo really his father’s woman now?
He glanced at the contractāit was from Xingyun Music.
Had Xiao Guo gotten the Xingyun contract by becoming his father’s woman? And even worseāavailable at a moment’s notice whenever needed?
Leng Ziyue tugged at his hair in anguish. “Xiao Guo, even if you blame me, even if you resent me, there’s no need to degrade yourself like this.”
Tang Guo glanced at the tormented Leng Ziyue, took a sip of milk, and reminded him, “Now that you’ve gotten the money, isn’t it time to pay me back? Leng Ziyue, you still owe me twenty million.”
“Xiao Guo…”
Tang Guo eyed the check. “Are you going to pay me back or not?”
Feeling a pang of sadness, Leng Ziyue pushed the check over to Tang Guo. “This was always meant for you.”
“Xiao Guo, why are you doing this?” Leng Ziyue looked guilt-ridden. “If it’s because the breakup hit you hard, you can come to me. Take revenge on me however you likeābut why degrade yourself like this, selling yourself like some kind of commodity?”
Tang Guo took the check in her hand. Upon hearing this, she lifted her eyes and said casually, “Take revenge however I like?”
“Yes. As long as you stop degrading yourself, I’ll accept whatever you do to me.”
“Then I’ll remember that.” Tang Guo smiled. “I’m full. Enjoy your meal.”
“Xiao Guo, my father isn’t a good man. He’ll toss you out of the villa in a couple of days. You’d better make other plans. Even if you get the Xingyun contract, once my father loses interest in you, Xingyun won’t look out for you. You won’t get anything you want.”
However, Tang Guo had already gone upstairsāheading straight for Leng Rui’s room. Leng Ziyue had no doubt that the two of them were already involved.
“Xiao Guo,” Leng Ziyue called out to her disappearing figure, “after you leave, don’t be so casual anymore. Come find me. If you want to be a singer, I’ll help you.”
Tang Guo turned back with a smile. “No need. Your dad is way more capable than you.”
“Handsome, rich, and with that mature man’s charmāvery attractive, you know.”
Just as Leng Ziyue was about to say more, his phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, he forgot about Tang Guo and quickly answered.
“Qiqi, calling me so early?”
“Ziyue, where are you?”
Leng Ziyue glanced at the staircaseāno one was there anymore. He breathed a sigh of relief. “I’m home. Qiqi, is something wrong?”
No sooner had he asked than Tang Guo’s soft, languid voice sounded from nearby, as if she had just woken up. “Ziyue, who’s calling you?”
“Ziyue, do you have a little vixen on the side?” Tang Guo blinked, a hint of a sly, malicious smile curling at the corner of her lips.
Her voice was sweet and coquettish, as if she were pouting and throwing a tantrum at him, but in reality, she was standing far awayānothing like the intimacy he might have imagined.
Leng Ziyue was completely frozen. It was Lu Qi’s voice on the phone that snapped him back.
“Leng Ziyue, who is she?”
“You’ve really disappointed me. I thought you were different, but it turns out I, Lu Qi, was blind yet again.”
Before Leng Ziyue could explain, the line went dead with a buzz.
“Qiqi, Qiqi…”
Leng Ziyue paced around anxiously, then shot a reproachful glance at Tang Guo before dashing out of the villa.
