Chapter 02
A Tiger Turns Into a Man
After calming herself down, Su Yuzhi silently encouraged herself.
No matter what, I have to find a way out first.
As long as I can find a road, all my problems will be solved!
So she continued wandering through the forest for another two hours.
As she walked, she eventually came upon a small stream.
The sun was climbing higher in the sky, and it was already noon. Su Yuzhi decided to rest by the stream for a while.
Although the towering trees blocked most of the sunlight, it was still summer, and the air was far from cool. After carrying her backpack and walking for two hours, she was drenched in sweat.
The stream couldn’t have appeared at a better time.
She found a shady spot beside the water and took out a towel to wipe away her sweat.
Even though her throat was dry and her mouth felt parched, she didn’t dare drink the water so casually.
What if it wasn’t clean? If she got sick out here, there would be no one to save her.
While she was wiping herself off, some small animals finally appeared by the stream.
Not far away, two little jungle kittens were playfully wrestling when they tumbled into the shallow water. Fortunately, the stream wasn’t deep. After standing back up, they were barely wet. They meowed at each other a few times before happily drinking from the stream side by side, occasionally licking each other’s fur.
Watching the two kittens, Su Yuzhi felt her heart melt.
How could such adorable little furballs exist in this world?
Afraid of startling them, she simply watched quietly, planning to drink from the stream after they left.
If animals could drink this water safely, it should be clean enough, right?
Unexpectedly, something happened.
The fur on both kittens suddenly stood on end. In the blink of an eye, they leaped away and disappeared into the grass.
Su Yuzhi looked toward the spot where they had vanished with some regret. She had wanted to admire the little cats a bit longer.
Since they were gone, however, she finally felt comfortable enough to drink from the stream. She also took out a pack of biscuits from her backpack and ate them with the water until she was full.
What she didn’t know was that while she was eating, a pair of eyes had been watching her the entire time.
Claire had never expected that he would encounter a lone female while out searching for food.
And she was so adorable.
Even the way she observed her surroundings was adorable.
The way she ate was adorable too.
Claire’s golden beast eyes remained fixed on Su Yuzhi, afraid that she might disappear if he blinked.
His mind raced as he tried to think of an opening.
How could he get to know this little female?
Had she already reached adulthood?
Was she a carnivore or a herbivore?
Even if she was a herbivore, that didn’t matter.
He would carefully remember every type of grass she liked to eat and gather the freshest, tastiest food for her. He would never let her go hungry.
Having finished eating, Su Yuzhi had no idea that a tiger with such an overactive imagination was hiding only ten meters away. She also didn’t know that the two little kittens had fled because they had been frightened by the tiger’s overwhelming aura.
She was debating whether to stay and rest a little longer or continue searching for a way out.
In the end, her desire to escape won.
Both her phone and her power bank were completely out of battery. More importantly, being alone in such a dense forest filled her with fear.
She stood up, brushed the dirt off her clothes, and prepared to head back the way she had come to search for another route.
The moment Claire saw her about to leave, the tiger, whose thoughts had drifted far away, instantly sprang into action.
Before Su Yuzhi could react, a gigantic tiger burst out of the bushes.
Wait!
Am I dreaming?
How can there be a tiger this huge?
She wished she could install an engine on her legs and run away immediately.
But dreams were beautiful, while reality was cruel.
The overwhelming shock left her arms and legs weak, and she collapsed onto the ground.
As the majestic tiger slowly strode toward her, she cried inwardly that her life was over and tightly shut her eyes.
Please… if you’re going to eat me, make it quick.
Please don’t let it hurt too much.
To her surprise, after several dozen seconds passed, there was no pain at all.
Instead, a deep, magnetic voice sounded beside her.
“Little female, are you alright?”
She abruptly opened her eyes.
Had someone chased the tiger away?
Instead, she found herself face-to-face with the enormous tiger’s head. Its golden beast eyes stared at her brightly, as though she were the most delicious meal imaginable.
Su Yuzhi thought to herself,
I’m really going to faint this time.
Just as she was about to lose consciousness, the tiger suddenly disappeared.
A flash of white light appeared.
In its place stood a handsome blond man with a calm and composed demeanor.
Good heavens…
Is this still Earth?
A tiger had just transformed into a man right before her eyes.
This time, she really did faint.
