Chapter 03
The Straightforward Tiger
After an unknown amount of time, Su Yuzhi gradually regained consciousness.
Before she even opened her eyes, she caught the strong scent of medicinal herbs. Nearby, she heard the deep, magnetic voice she had heard before conversing with another calm female voice.
“Witch Doctor, how is the little female?” It was the voice of the tiger that had apparently transformed into a human.
“There’s nothing seriously wrong with her. She was probably frightened and fainted. She’ll wake up on her own,” replied the unfamiliar, composed female voice.
As they spoke, they seemed to notice the slight movement Su Yuzhi made and turned to look at her.
When she fully opened her eyes, she found herself staring into two pairs of bright, attentive eyes.
“H Hello,” Su Yuzhi greeted nervously.
“Little female, how are you feeling? Are you still uncomfortable?” the blond man asked with a worried expression.
“I’m fine. I actually feel pretty good.”
Faced with such a handsome man looking at her so anxiously, Su Yuzhi, who had been single all eighteen years of her life, became so nervous that she didn’t even know where to put her hands.
“See? I told you she’d be fine. She just needs to go back and rest,” the witch doctor said with a warm smile.
Only then did Su Yuzhi turn to look at her.
“Hello, little female. This is the Leopard Tribe. I’m the witch doctor, Gwen.”
The mature woman had jet-black hair and a gentle smile. She naturally gave off the comforting aura of an elder in the family, warm, kind, and caring toward the younger generation.
“Hello, Witch Doctor Gwen. Did you save me?”
And what exactly had happened with that huge tiger?
Now that she had calmed down, Su Yuzhi had countless questions she wanted to ask, but she was afraid of being treated like some kind of oddity.
If her eyes hadn’t deceived her earlier, then this blond man really was the tiger she had seen.
That meant she was probably no longer on Earth.
Both of them were wearing animal hides instead of modern clothing, suggesting that the technology here wasn’t very advanced.
And they kept calling her “little female.”
Had she somehow arrived in a world of beastmen?
“Claire was the one who brought you here. I only examined you. There was nothing wrong with your body to begin with,” Gwen replied honestly, taking no credit for herself.
So the blond man is called Claire.
Su Yuzhi silently noted his name.
“Little female, which tribe are you from? Would you like me to take you back?” Claire asked with genuine concern.
This was the perfect opportunity to win her favor.
No matter which tribe she belonged to, he would follow her, pursue her, and stay by her side until she accepted him.
Su Yuzhi immediately felt a sense of danger.
“Um… well… I don’t actually know where my tribe is,” she answered guiltily.
Witch Doctor Gwen smiled kindly.
“That’s alright. You can stay in the Leopard Tribe. We’re a very nice place to live.”
She had no intention of prying into why the little female didn’t want to return to her own tribe.
The most important thing right now was keeping her here.
After all, who wouldn’t like such an adorable little female?
“Really? Thank you so much!”
Su Yuzhi looked at Gwen with sparkling eyes. Her bright, lively expression was so lovable that it made people want to give her everything she desired.
Claire hurriedly added,
“Then I’ll stay too.”
Wherever the little female was, he would be.
Gwen laughed heartily.
“Alright. I’ll go make the arrangements. The two of you wait here for me.”
After Gwen left, only Su Yuzhi and Claire remained, staring awkwardly at each other.
Unable to endure the silence any longer, Su Yuzhi finally broke it.
“Um… Claire, right? Which tribe are you from?”
The moment he heard the little female call his name, Claire felt as though his heart had been wrapped in honey.
She’s so adorable.
Even her voice is unbelievably sweet.
Although he was bursting with excitement inside, he maintained a calm expression.
“Yes. My name is Claire. I’m from the Tiger Tribe.”
“I see. Then why do you want to stay here? Aren’t you from the Tiger Tribe?”
She asked casually. It wasn’t that she was especially curious. She simply wanted to find something to talk about and ease the awkward atmosphere.
“Because I want to court you. I want to become your mate. I’m willing to do anything for you.”
Su Yuzhi froze.
Wait…
What did he just say?
Her brain nearly stopped working.
“B But we don’t even know each other.”
Claire lowered himself onto one knee, placing his right hand over his chest and bowing his head.
It was a gesture of submission.
“Although I still don’t know your name, I truly fell in love with you at first sight. Please don’t reject me so quickly. I want to spend my entire life treating you well. Can you give me that chance?”
In the world of beastmen, there were no complicated games or hidden intentions.
Claire knew he had fallen for Su Yuzhi, and he was willing to give everything for her.
A feeling he had never experienced before swept over him, as though he had fallen into a dream woven entirely from honey.
Females were extremely rare, but he wasn’t someone who fell in love easily.
None of the females he had met before had ever made his heart race.
Only this little female.
Every movement she made seemed as though it had been tailor-made for him.
From the very first moment he saw her, he knew.
For the rest of his life, he would never fall in love with any other female.
