Chapter – 04
What Did the Match Bring to Her?
At the arena on the grounds of the Fiebel Ducal Estate
“Brother! Do your best!”
Time passed in the blink of an eye. After Rina and I finished breakfast, attendants from the Fiebel house arrived at our terribly rundown home.
While the attendants were waiting, part of our rotten roof broke and fell off. Taking pity on us poor folk, the attendants kindly repaired it.
Since I had to keep unnecessary expenses down for my sister’s tuition, I bowed my head and expressed my gratitude.
Well, putting that aside, I was now standing face to face with Lady Elena in the training arena near the Fiebel mansion.
She was clad in armor, her sword drawn and infused with magical energy. Probably to ensure that even if the blade struck, her skin wouldn’t be cut.
That said, she really was beautiful.
Though it was armor, it looked more like the cosplay-style stuff you’d see in anime and manga, so there was a fair amount of skin exposed.
The breastplate was slightly oversized to cover her melon-sized bosom, but fabric clung to her waist and abdomen.
A body with perfect balance in every way.
And watching her was a blonde middle-aged man.
His identity was Duke Kelts.
The current head of the Fiebel house, a man so feared by the royal family due to his immense wealth and power (source: the adventurers at the Guild Hall).
Having such an important person watching only made me more nervous.
“Rina’s brother, are you ready?”
“Yes…”
“Hmm. So you don’t need a wand or any weapons?”
“Well, I summon and use my weapons.”
“I see. A summoning magic user… and able to cast without a wand… Then I’ll go all out without reservation!”
“I-I’m basically an amateur, so p-please go easy on me…”
As I bowed my head, the maid standing between us spoke up.
“Then… begin!”
With that, the maid promptly stepped back.
And thenâ
Lady Elenaâ
curled the corners of her mouth, kicked off the ground, and flew toward me.
“Whaâ!”
Incredible speed.
I’d anticipated it to some extent, but seeing it in person was a whole different level of immersion.
I dodged her sword and stepped back.
Butâ
she pressed forward again, giving me no opening.
“Fast.”
I muttered reflexively as I evaded her fierce assault.
Her blade continued to come at me.
The speed and intensity were incomparable to the monsters I’d hunted before.
It seemed she was
dead serious.
So Iâ
“Pistol!”
I shouted while dodging her attacks. A modified pistol materialized in my hand.
I fired several shots at her.
*Bang! Bang! Bang!*
“Haaah!!”
She took all my modified bullets head-on and was sent flying backward. But soon enough, she planted her feet on the ground and calmly stared at me.
“I’ve never seen a weapon like that before.”
“W-well…”
“The last time I was knocked back like that was against one of the Demon Lord’s executives. How nostalgic.”
Lady Elena reminisced as if lost in thought, but then her expression shifted and she shot me a sharp glare.
And then, like lightning, she came at me again.
“Rifle!”
I dismissed the pistol and summoned a modified rifle, aiming the barrel at Lady Elena and pulling the trigger.
Butâ
“Hmph! Too slow!”
With confidence, Lady Elena dodged all the modified magic bullets and struck at me.
I kept defending against her sharp attacks with the rifle.
*Clang! Clang!*
The sound of metal clashing against metal.
For five minutes, I focused solely on defending against her attacks, the sharp sounds echoing through the arena and making me wince.
The shockwaves cracked the arena’s bricksâif this kept up, the entire arena might collapse.
Alright.
This is enough.
If I take her attack and fall here, things will wrap up nicely.
Honestly, I had no intention of showing all my power to the Fiebel house.
I’m aiming for a slow life.
And yet, having a match with the eldest daughter of a ducal houseâthis had to be some kind of madness.
But if I lost too easily here, I’d lose face as an older brother.
On the other hand, with Duke Kelts watching, I couldn’t embarrass Lady Elena either.
In other words, if I’m going to lose, now is the time.
So I deliberately slowed my movements, ready to take a hit from her swordâbut thenâ
Suddenly, an arrow coated with deadly poison flew toward Lady Elena from the front.
“!!!”
My eyes widened and I immediately chanted.
“Iron Plate!”
The summoned iron plate blocked the arrow at just the right moment.
At the same timeâ
—
“Opening!!”
—
Unaware of the assassin’s attack, Lady Elena closed in on me as I moved awkwardly and struck at my solar plexus.
Butâ
Iâ
because it was an emergencyâ
could no longer hold back.
I immediately deflected Lady Elena’s sword with my rifle and placed my right hand on her stomach.
“Whaâ! Your movements are completely different from before…”
Ignoring her confusion, Iâ
pressed my hand against her stomach and lifted her with one armâ
and toward the groundâ
—
“HAAAAH!!!”
I slammed her down with full force.
“Guh!”
*Elena’s Side*
I had never lost before.
Not as a child, not now.
In combat or competition, the word “defeat” didn’t exist for me.
Called the Battle Princess, she even had a cult of worshippers who claimed she should be added to mythology and built temples in her honorâa legendary existence.
Butâ
she was beaten by the commoner man before her.
As her consciousness faded, Elena realized.
To this man, she was nothing more than a baby.
All this time, she had been rampaging like a female who had lost her master.
But now, a male with overwhelming strength had completely dominated her.
For a moment, she felt fear at this unfamiliar emotionâ
but upon witnessing Kanato’s masculine face and strengthâ
her true nature as a female who wanted to submit to him overflowed.
His hand was still placed on her stomach.
Unmistakably, it was the hand of the man who had defeated her for the first time.
“!!!”
The lower part of Elena’s abdomen suddenly began to grow hot.
But at the same time, her consciousness grew hazyâ
and as she watched the crumbling arenaâ
she arched her back with a joltâ
and lost consciousness.
