Receiving the Reward Points

To be safe, Su Yuzhi picked five different kinds of fruit. Since the edible part of a plant was not always its fruit, she selected three extra varieties. The book had only introduced some edible plants and their suitable habitats, but it had not explained in detail which part of each plant was actually the fruit.

“What are you planning to trade for them?”

Before any transaction, both sides usually discussed what they were willing to accept. Although it was called trade, it was really more like bartering.

Claire took out a single red crystal stone.

For the Deer Tribe beastman, this was an unexpected windfall.

Recently, the city had become obsessed with shell jewelry. It was said that the merfolk who lived by the sea had come up with the idea. Beautiful polished shells were strung together with cords to make necklaces, bracelets, and other accessories. His female had wanted a shell necklace for a long time.

Shell necklaces could only be exchanged for crystal stones.

Unfortunately, both he and his female’s other mates were herbivorous beastfolk with limited fighting ability. Even working together, they could not hunt a wild beast that possessed a crystal stone, so he had come to the marketplace hoping to get lucky.

He had never expected that on his very first day, he would meet someone willing to trade a crystal stone for fruit.

To him, it was an incredible bargain.

For the Tiger Tribe beastman, however, exchanging an entire crystal stone for just a few kinds of fruit was clearly a loss.

The Deer Tribe beastman felt a little embarrassed, but he truly wanted the crystal stone.

So he decided to give both baskets of fruit to Su Yuzhi and Claire.

“Really? You’re giving us everything that’s left?” Su Yuzhi asked excitedly.

“Yes, little female.”

Su Yuzhi was so happy she felt like spinning in circles.

With so much fruit, she could give some to Gwen the witch doctor, and if there was any left over, she could even try making jam.

After happily accepting the crystal stone, the Deer Tribe beastman returned home.

Claire carried one basket on his back, another in one hand, and held Su Yuzhi in his other arm.

“Zhizhi, is there anything else you want?”

“No. Let’s hurry back!”

Su Yuzhi shifted around in Claire’s arms until she found the most comfortable position.

She could hardly wait to submit her mission and earn her points.

“Alright. Let’s go home.”

Claire chuckled softly, thoroughly enjoying the feeling of being relied upon by Su Yuzhi.

He truly was the ideal partner to have around the house, even if they were not mates yet.

Not only was he an excellent cook when it came to roasting meat, he also knew how to tan hides, weave grass shoes, possessed tremendous strength, and treated her with endless care and gentleness.

Just like before, it only took Claire about fifteen minutes to return to the Leopard Tribe.

Although he walked quickly, Su Yuzhi did not feel the slightest bump.

His powerful arm held her as steadily as a pair of iron clamps.

However, they encountered many Leopard Tribe beastfolk on their way back to the tree house.

It happened to be the time when everyone was returning from hunting.

Every beastfolk they passed looked at Su Yuzhi with curiosity.

There was no malice in their gazes.

They were simply curious.

The village chief had sent people around the previous evening to inform every household that a new female had joined the tribe.

A gathering had been arranged for that evening to welcome Su Yuzhi.

After all, females were extremely rare, and having one willingly join the tribe was something worth celebrating.

Among the Leopard Tribe, there were only seven adult females living in the village.

The rest of the females and many tribe members lived in the city.

Su Yuzhi, however, knew nothing about any of this.

The leopard who had been sent to notify her the previous night had not known which tree house she was staying in.

By the time he found out the next morning, she and Claire had already gone out, so he never got the chance to tell her.

Being watched by so many curious eyes made Su Yuzhi’s social anxiety flare up.

Fortunately, Claire moved quickly, so she was only the center of attention for about two minutes before they reached the tree house.

After setting both Su Yuzhi and the baskets of fruit down, Claire turned to leave and go hunting again.

Before he could step outside, Su Yuzhi called after him.

“Claire, could you bring back a thinner stone slab?”

Once she exchanged her points for the seasoning gift pack, she wanted to try stir-frying some food.

“Of course. About how thin?”

A female’s request deserved unconditional fulfillment.

Whatever she wanted to do, he would do his best to help.

It was only a small stone slab, after all.

“About… this thick?”

Su Yuzhi gestured with her fingers.

She suddenly remembered the large leaves that had been wrapped around the fruit they had brought back.

The leaves were just about the right thickness, roughly the same as a grilling plate.

She took one out and handed it to Claire.

Claire nodded.

“Alright, Zhizhi. I’ll be back soon.”

As soon as Claire left, Su Yuzhi quickly shut the door.

She casually picked up two fruits and tried submitting them to the system.

Both submissions were accepted.

The system’s mechanical voice echoed inside her mind.

“Congratulations, Host. Beginner Mission 1 has been completed. Five points have been awarded. Please check your balance.”

She immediately opened the system shop and exchanged her points for the Forest Map, Rice Seeds, and the Seasoning Gift Pack.

After purchasing them, the items were automatically stored in the warehouse.

Su Yuzhi opened the warehouse and decided to take out the Seasoning Gift Pack first.

With a single thought, several palm-sized stone bowls with lids appeared on the floor.

She opened them one by one.

Inside were salt, soy sauce, black vinegar, cooking wine, and chicken bouillon powder.

Su Yuzhi eagerly rubbed her hands together, ready to show off her cooking skills.

Everything was prepared.

Now all she had to do was wait for Claire to return with the stone slab and today’s prey.
