Chapter 08
It is the high school division where the game officially begins.
First and foremost, the heroine will enroll.
As I touched upon briefly before, this game features a double heroine system. Therefore, it remains unknown which of the heroines will actually end up enrolling.
Since you could set the name yourself, the heroine’s default name is also unknown… During my playthroughs of the game, I used to just haphazardly reuse whatever name my sister had picked out.
The scariest thing of all is that.
What people commonly refer to as “the plot armor” or “the narrative force” of a game.
In order to advance the story exactly as scripted, it is a thoroughly troublesome phenomenon where everything works against the villainess even if she hasn’t done a single misdeedâand for me, it is a phenomenon that must be stopped at all costs.
Then there are things like toxic heroines and whatnot… But if anyone dares to try and frame my little angel as a villainess, I won’t show them a shred of mercy, even if the opponent is a girl!
Furthermore, much like the heroine, there is a capture target who makes his debut starting from the high school division. As a prince from a foreign land coming to study abroad in our country, this guy is a critical figure who heavily ties into the main plot.
The fifth capture target is Alexandra.
He is a prince of Jawhara and the resident sex-appeal character type studying abroad in our nation. Being a prince from another country, he doesn’t possess a Trait. However, as a half-demon, this fellow can use magic. Hailing from a culture that is highly sociable and embraces harems, he is a bastard who unleashes sweet whispers and theatrical, pretentious gestures the moment his opponent is a woman. While he approaches women flippantly on the surface, due to his background, he doesn’t truly trust them deep down in his heart… He and Garnest shared the position of being the main heroes.
He was a character I was quite bad at dealing with. For the record, my second least favorite was Garnest.
I mean, think about it? Imagine how I felt having a guy aggressively hit on me through the screen…
Appearance-wise, he has tan skin, golden hair like silken thread, and alluring eyes that shift colors like an alexandrite gemstone. If I had to compare his visual image to something, it would probably be a lion. Perhaps because he comes from a hot country, his outfits are a bit on the revealing side, oozing way too much sex appeal. …I really don’t want to show him to the pure and innocent Beatrix.
As a massive lover of women, this guy easily ranked number one in the “most sweet lines” category, and he happened to be the favorite character of my oldest sister in my past life.
The real Alexandra, however…
I have no idea. I’ve never met him, after all.
Three years from now, after Beatrix and the heroines enroll in the academy’s high school division, he is scheduled to transfer in slightly after the entrance ceremony.
Why does he arrive fashionably late? Is he a show-off? I always used to think he should have just timed his study abroad to match the actual entrance ceremony like a normal person.
He is one school year above Beatrix, making him an upperclassman in the same year as Garnest and the others.
And the conflict that arises between our nation and Alexandraâs homeland, Jawhara, serves as the main axis of the game.
No matter whose route you select, the main story revolves around the heroine and the capture target standing together to prevent a clash between nations. Though the processes and events differ from character to character, the broad strokes remain the same.
To be completely honest, I couldn’t care less who the heroine ends up with. As long as they leave Beatrix out of it, they can fall in love however they please.
Even so, the bad endings are something I absolutely cannot overlook. This is because a bad ending causes relations with Jawhara to deteriorate.
Currently, Jawhara is a friendly nation to our countryâa level of amity you can readily infer from the fact that their prince is going out of his way to study abroad here. However… if the story heads toward a bad ending, the resulting damage will be catastrophic, leading to mutual discord, the souring or severing of diplomatic ties, and in the worst-case scenario, outright war.
You’ve got to be kidding me. As if I’d let the fate of a nation be dictated by someone’s love life.
…Therefore, I am fully determined to prevent a bad ending at all costs.
And then, the sixth capture target is Zist.
A pure-blooded demon who takes the form of a black dragon, he is a character who puts on a confident, arrogant front but is actually a total coward underneath, boasting overwhelming, absolute strength. His mighty draconic form and the sight of him breathing out fires akin to a raging inferno are incredibly cool. It honestly gives you the urge to go on a monster hunt. …………Oops, slip of the tongue. While he looks like a aggressive and violent character at first glance, he actually has a timid streak, and that personality seems to be a major source of anxiety for him.
As a hidden character, Zist initially appears in his black dragon form.
Personally, I vastly preferred this form. Because it’s just so cool!
If you successfully manage to catch Zist’s interest, his hidden route unlocks… and since he is one of the capture targets, he can naturally take on a humanoid form. Well, obviously… otherwise, how on earth are you supposed to romance him?
His humanoid appearance consists of tan skin, rigid-looking gray hair, and demon-like amethyst eyes. Calling them “demon-like” is just my subjective take, but don’t demons generally evoke images of black, purple, gold, or red? Despite his tall stature and wild exterior, he is a total coward.
The key to capturing his route is for the player to adopt a more aggressive, confident stance, precisely because he is a coward despite being a demon.
Incidentally, he was the favorite character of my third oldest sister in my past life. Apparently, she loved the gap moe.
The real Zist, however…
I have no idea. I don’t happen to have any demon acquaintances.
Furthermore, his bad ending is another major incident that absolutely must be prevented.
Because the kingdom gets attacked. A dragon raid is seriously something I want no part of………… and to make matters worse, this guy breathes fire, so the casualties would be immense… I must prevent the royal capital from being swallowed by a sea of flames at all costs.
Let me say it for a second time: as if I’d let the fate of a nation be dictated by someone’s love life!
I mean, seriously, can’t people keep romance a bit more peaceful? I don’t mind if you do whatever bittersweet, romantic nonsense you want on your own, so please, I beg of you, stop dragging everyone else into your mess. Please.
There’s that saying, “Love saves the world,” so love itself might be a wonderful thing. Even my own decision as a mob character to resist this future stems fundamentally from my love for my family.
I have absolutely no intention of denying love, but I refuse to tolerate a future where the country plunges into a crisis just because someone failed at their romance.
In preparation for the start of the game, I intend to do everything within my power.
