Chapter – 02
You Little Brat, How Dare You Make a Fool of Your King?!
After reading Renaâs information, the âloyalâ Lynn should have exposed Renaâs true identity to Garron.
But he didnât.
How could he possibly do that?!
First, because he wasnât loyal at all.
Second, because if he exposed Rena, he would absolutely be the first one she killed before she and Garron came to blows!
Third, because he was human. Even if he wasnât from this world, his allegiance lay with humanityâotherwise, he wouldnât have been hoping to escape this demon lair.
So should he just accept Rena as his cheap wife?
No way.
She was too dangerous!
Lynnâs mind raced:
Since she wants to chop up her cheap husband, doesnât that mean I just have to avoid becoming her husband?
Lynn patted himself on the back for his brilliant idea.
So, he decisively requested Garron to let him draw again.
At the same time:
ăSequence No. 53 Deity, âEntertainment to the Death,â has entered your channel and given you a like for your clever move!ă
ăâEntertainment to the Deathâ has tipped you 100 points. He greatly anticipates how things will unfold next.ă
Lynn was stunned for a few seconds, utterly shocked.
He had just assumed his golden finger was the ability to read othersâ informationâwhat was this now?!
Deities? Channel? Points?!
Lynn suddenly felt like he had been dragged into some conspiracy, set up in a scheme.
But he had no time to figure all that out now. As soon as he made the request to âredraw,â both Garron on his throne and Rena before him changed expressions.
In Garronâs eyes, Lynnâs move was nothing short of a challenge to his authority!
After all, every other chieftain had obediently taken their wife and thanked himâso why should Lynn get a special redraw?!
Garron rose from his throne, looking down at Lynn with immense majesty:
âWhat dissatisfaction do you have with this female knight?â
Rena also tensed up.
Her goal was to infiltrate and carry out an assassination.
If she couldnât even get in, not only would she fail her mission, but she might also be putting herself in grave danger!
She couldnât understand why this âhuman traitorâ wanted to redraw?!
Rena was more than confident in her looks!
âYou⊠are you dissatisfied with me? Whatever it is, Iâll changeâI promise!â
Rena faced Lynn, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.
Her âOscar-worthyâ trait kicked in, and she acted flawlessly.
Unsurprisingly, both Garron and Rena, for their own reasons, did not want Lynn to redraw.
The ball was back in Lynnâs court!
Lynn gritted his teeth and stomped his foot:
âLord Garron, your subordinate does not like human females!â
âWhy? Arenât you human yourself?â
âBecause she⊠is hideously ugly!â
âOh?â To Garronâor rather, to all demonsâall humans looked the same; they couldnât tell human beauty from ugliness.
ăGarron believed your words, but Rena secretly swore she would tear you, the âhuman traitor,â limb from limb!ă
Lynn was speechless.
He just wanted to shake off this troublesome woman!
Rena did indeed want to dismember Lynn, but on the surface she continued to act soft and meek:
âIâm truly sorry that my appearance displeases you. But in every other way, I will make sure you are completely satisfied!â
With that, Rena blushed.
Whether it was from shame or from her superb acting skills was anyoneâs guess.
Seeing Renaâs attitude, how could Lynn not understand:
Sheâs latched onto me!
She insists on using me as a tool to infiltrate and complete her assassination mission!
ăSequence No. 108 Deity, âPure Love Invincible,â has entered your channel. He was moved by Renaâs heartfelt confession to you.ă
ăâPure Love Invincibleâ has tipped you 500 points. He hopes to see you accept Rena.ă
Lynn: ââŠâ
Is this âPure Love Invincibleâ really a deity?!
Doesnât he know Rena is just acting?!
Lynn wasnât the least bit happy about receiving 500 points.
He had to reject Rena decisively!
Absolutely no stepping into this muddy mess!
Ignoring Renaâs âpitifulâ act, Lynn insisted on a redraw:
âLord Garron, I am willing to trade half a yearâs salary for one chance to redraw!â
Yes, as the 108th chieftain serving Garron, Lynnâlike the other chieftainsâactually received a salary!
ăâPure Love Invincibleâ cursed and grumbled, calling you a âpoint scammer,â and demanded you return his 500 points!ă
Return them?
Return them, my foot!
Lynn didnât yet know what points were useful for, but they were definitely valuable!
âYou want to trade half a yearâs salary for one redraw?â Garron asked in a deep voice. âAre you sure? I didnât expect this female knight to be so ugly that even a fellow human like you canât stand her.â
As Lynn nodded, he noticed Renaâs strange gaze.
ăRena not only wants to dismember you but also chop you into mincemeat to feed to the dogs.ă
ăâEntertainment to the Deathâ has tipped you 200 points. He sincerely hopes you live a long and healthy life.ă
âVery well.â Garron agreed to Lynnâs request, since it was bought with half a yearâs salary.
At the same time, Garron picked up his spiked mace:
âSince even you canât stand this female knight, thereâs no use keeping her.â
Garronâs meaning was clearâhe was going to smash Rena to death right there.
Now both Lynn and Rena panicked.
Rena had never expected that after all her careful planning and effort to infiltrate this place, her assassination plan hadnât even begunâand it was all ruined by this human traitor right in front of her.
At this point, her only option was to fight Garron head-on.
Without a doubt, she would die hereâŠ
ăRena is preparing to clash with Garron. Before making her move, she plans to burn you to ashes to vent her hatred.ă
Lynn really wanted to cry.
Accepting her meant risks; rejecting her meant getting burned to death immediately.
Damned if you do, damned if you donât?!
ăâEntertainment to the Deathâ exclaimed how interesting this was! He has followed your channel.ă
ăYour channel has gained its first follower, earning you 1,000 points and the skill âSilver Tongue Lv.1.âă
ăâSilver Tongueâ makes your words more persuasive.ă
This new twist stunned Lynn again.
*At least give me a combat skill or an escape skill!*
Lynn had no time to complainâGarron had already picked up his mace, and Rena was ready for battle.
A spark away from explosion.
A hairâs breadth from disaster.
Sweat rolled down Lynnâs cheeks.
If he didnât accept Rena, he would die instantly!
With no other choice, Lynn had no way out.
He grabbed Renaâs hand and bowed to Garron in thanks:
âThank you, Lord Garron, for your generous gift! I give up the redrawâIâll take her!â
Garron: ââŠâ
Rena: ââŠâ
The other bystanders: ââŠâ
An eerie silence fell over the scene.
Rena didnât understand why this human traitor had suddenly changed his mind, but she secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Garron and the other demons, however, eruptedâespecially Garron, who flew into a rage:
âYou little brat, how dare you make a fool of your king?! You humans are truly fickle!â
Garronâs anger was not without reasonâafter all, Lynn had first requested a redraw, and once Garron agreed, Lynn immediately went back on his word.
How could one of the Four Great Demon Generals tolerate being toyed with by a mere human?!
âIt seems my 108th chieftain needs to be replaced.â
Garron was going to smash Lynn to death!
