Chapter – 01
Innate Sacred Being, Born a Golden Immortal
The vast East Sea stretched endlessly, its azure waves rippling without cease.
Deep within the abyssal waters, hidden in a space existing between the interstices of Mount Sumeru, lay a secret realm.
Three continents, stretching for hundreds of millions of miles, stood towering and ancient, while countless smaller islands surrounded them, forming a naturally occurring primordial great formation.
On the largest of these islands, a towering ancient tree rose high into the sky. Endless spiritual energy condensed into clouds of mist, slowly absorbed by the treeâs leaves and roots.
Beside the tree lay a spring that extended for ten thousand miles. Its waters shimmered with radiant lightâbrilliant as the sun, luminous as the moon, and twinkling as the stars.
Within these waters, a white lotus stood proudly, its one hundred and eight petals almost completely covering the springâs surface.
The white lotus swayed gently, drinking in the boundless spiritual energy and the luminous glow of the spring.
In the primordial wilds, time was not counted.
No one knew how many ages passed. Then, suddenly, the white lotus burst forth with blinding radiance, illuminating hundreds of millions of miles in an instant.
If not for the innate great formation shielding the island, that light would have shone across the entire East Sea.
“At lastâI have taken form!”
“After countless eons of chaotic slumber, today I finally understand myself!”
There was no tribulation of transformation. Instead, heavenly notes resounded, and purple ether drifted all around.
When an innate sacred being takes form, the very heavens and earth rejoice.
Each innate sacred being carries within them a fragment of the Daoâs principles and reasonâthey are, in a sense, the darlings of the primordial world. How could they suffer a tribulation?
Within the Pure World White Lotus, a spark of spiritual light coalesced, shaping itself into the form of a man with an innate Dao body.
Lu Yanâs eyes wavered, then gradually grew clear.
He recalled the past, and his memories sharpened.
He had originally been an ordinary man on Blue Star, unremarkable in every way. He had died saving a few children from drowning.
Who would have thought…
Perhaps fools truly have fortune.
At the dawn of Panguâs creation, when the Chaos Green Lotus shattered, he had become a spark of light within one of its scattered seeds.
After countless eons of gestation, he had finally taken form.
His origin had thus become that of an innate sacred being born at the very opening of heaven and earthâtransforming directly into a Golden Immortal.
“The past cannot be reclaimed. Since my true form is the Pure World White Lotus, my Dao name shall be Yuan Lian.”
“âOne cycle returns to the beginning.â I hope that one day I may return to the source.”
Yuan Lianâs gaze was distant, filled with longing.
From the fragmented memories still lingering in the Pure World White Lotus, he deeply understood the vast and unfathomable power of the thirty-sixth-grade Chaos Green Lotus that once grew in the primal chaos.
This aspiration was almost born within himâa natural instinct, branded into his very soul.
But gathering the fragments of the Chaos Green Lotusâhe could only imagine the difficulty.
He looked down at the white lotus beneath his feet. With a single thought, the Pure World White Lotus, spanning a million miles in size, transformed into a beam of white light and surged into his body.
Within his divine soul, the lotus turned slowly.
But suddenly, a hazy, brilliant spiritual light rippled out from the lotus. He felt all distracting thoughts in his heart instantly purified, his mind becoming clear and serene, his very soul cleansed.
“Innate divine abilityâPure World Spiritual Light!!”
Yuan Lian sensed the ability, which felt as natural as breathing, and a surge of joy rose within him.
A moon-white Daoist robe materialized, wrapping his flawless Dao body. With a single step, Yuan Lian arrived at the shore.
He paid no heed to the boundless Three-Light Divine Water pool stretching for ten thousand miles, nor to the towering ancient tree that was clearly an innate spiritual root.
Yuan Lianâs mana surged, and his gaze turned toward the profound innate great formation shielding the island.
The primordial world was fraught with dangers. Who knew whether any other innate sacred beings had sensed the commotion of his transformation?
The Penglai Immortal Island held so many treasuresâif someone came seeking them, the consequences didnât bear thinking about.
He also had no idea what era the primordial world had reached.
But no matter the age, cultivation and mastery of the Dao were the only foundations.
With his current meager Golden Immortal cultivation, he could be wiped from existence at any moment.
So, the first thing he had to do was refine this primordial great formation, to ensure his safety.
Freshly transformed, Yuan Lian had no cultivation method to speak of.
He could only rely on his mana to slowly refine the formation, bit by bit, imprinting his own mark upon it.
—
This was a painstaking task, with no shortcuts.
Fortunately, the spiritual energy on Penglai Immortal Island was dense, and with the Three-Light Divine Water nearby, he could replenish his mana at any time.
In the primordial chaos, time was not counted.
Yuan Lian immersed himself entirely in the work, forgetting himself and all else.
—
Far away in the vast East Sea, on a massive archipelago, a man with a resolute, masculine face suddenly jolted awake from his cultivation.
“Restless and uneasy… I vaguely sense a destiny that belongs to me? But itâs too obscureâlike flowers in a fog.”
Dongwanggongâs eyes gleamed sharply, a flicker of doubt crossing his mind.
Without hesitation, he focused his mind and began to carefully sense the faint, elusive aura to discern where it came from.
Even among the first wave of innate sacred beings born at the opening of heaven and earth, transformation occurred at different times.
Dongwanggong had clearly taken form much earlier than Yuan Lian, and his cultivation had now reached the late Golden Immortal stage.
“Iâve found it.”
After only a moment, a faint smile tugged at Dongwanggongâs lips.
Though he still couldnât see clearly, he had at least sensed the general direction.
“I must hurryâbefore someone else seizes it.”
His form flickered, transforming into a beam of rainbow light as he shot toward the direction of the aura, crossing thousands of miles in an instant.
The primordial world was vast beyond measureâthe East Sea alone was incalculably immense.
Dongwanggong raced in one direction for nearly an eon, encountering several ferocious beasts along the way. After expending considerable effort to slay them, he grew only more urgent in his flight.
He could faintly sense the aura dissipatingâthe destiny that belonged to him was about to fade away.
“No! That is mine. Iâll make itâat most another thousand years.”
Dongwanggongâs expression was frantic, a fierce glint flashing in his eyes.
—
“Finallyâfully refined.”
Yuan Lian rose, brushing his sleeve, a reassured smile curling at the corner of his mouth.
Before him, the primordial great formation that shielded the immortal island for hundreds of millions of miles flickered with spiritual light, shifting and transforming at his will.
“What a fine primordial Three-Talent Great Formationâcombining concealment, defense, and imprisonment. No wonder legend says it is only discovered when fate permits.”
“Haha… But now, this island is fated to be mine! Conceal!”
With full control of the primordial formation, Yuan Lian laughed heartily and activated it, hiding the island chain completely from sight.
—
“Gone! My destiny is gone!”
Above the East Sea, Dongwanggong, who had raced for another thousand years, suddenly stopped, his face filled with shock and disbelief.
He had been so closeâand then, without warning, the aura of destiny vanished entirely.
“Damn it!”
Dongwanggongâs expression twisted. Raging mana surged around him, churning up waves thousands of feet high.
In that instant, countless living beings and spirits within the East Sea were crushed by the overwhelming pressure, reduced to ashes.
After venting his fury, Dongwanggongâs mind gradually cleared.
“It was right around hereâit canât have disappeared completely. Could it be hidden?”
Based on his final sense of the aura before it vanished, the location was at most a hundred million miles away.
Even if it were concealed, he only needed to refine that entire expanse of seaâhe would find some clue.
He decided to act.
“Primal Yang Divine Fireâburn!”
Dongwanggong muttered lowly, and a flame radiating the essence of ultimate yang materialized in his palm.
Born from the very first wisp of primal yang energy at the opening of heaven and earth, his Primal Yang Divine Fire was supremely firm and blazing. Though not as potent as the Solar True Fire, it was still among the most powerful divine flames.
The moment the Primal Yang Divine Fire appeared, the cold clarity of the East Sea turned scorching and unbearable.
The divine fire split into countless sparks, spreading from Dongwanggongâs position to cover a hundred million miles in every direction, turning the sea into an inferno.
