Chapter – 03
Three-Light Divine Water, Dragon Clan’s Azure Dragon!
Within the Penglai Immortal Island, Yuan Lian swept his gaze over the teetering formation, his expression somewhat grim.
The Three-Light Divine Waterâthe trinity of Sun, Moon, and Starâwas not so easily reverse-refined and decomposed.
For a thousand years, he had refined it ceaselessly, his mana circulating without pause. Unexpectedly, this relentless effort had slightly elevated his cultivation and made his mana purer. Yet, he remained stuck at the early stage of the Golden Immortal realm. After over a millennium, he had only just begun to see signs of the primordial essence of a mass of Three-Light Divine Water beginning to separate.
“Break for me!”
Seeing the divine water on the verge of splitting, Yuan Lian shouted softly, unleashing all his mana in a single burst.
*Hum!!*
A resonant hum echoed, and he felt a surge of joy, a genuine smile spreading across his face.
“It’s done! Finally done!”
In the void, three small clusters of divine water floated, each radiating a distinct luminescence. One glowed with dazzling golden lightâthe flesh-melting, bone-eroding Sunlight Divine Water. Another shimmered with soft silver lightâthe spirit-rotting, soul-destroying Moonlight Divine Water. The last sparkled with noble purple lightâthe spirit-liberating, thought-dissolving Starlight Divine Water.
Casually collecting a few pieces of jade, Yuan Lian refined them into three differently colored jade vials to store each type respectively.
Afterward, he scooped up a mass of Three-Light Divine Water nearly a hundred *li* in circumference from the pool and continued the process of decomposition. A small mass like this would be far too insufficient to deal with a Golden Immortal-level innate deity; he needed much more.
Having mastered the technique, he found subsequent decomposition far smoother.
Meanwhile, on the other side, the Eastern King, who could now faintly make out the outlines of the islands hidden within the *Maitreya* space, stared with fervent eyes. Were it not for the Purifying World White Lotus’s tenacious resistance, this entire space would have long been completely incinerated by him. Yet, even so, after a millennium of relentless smelting, this space was on the verge of collapse. That so-called formation was about to be broken.
“The destiny that belongs to me shall eventually return to me.”
The Eastern King muttered to himself, his eyes blazing with excitement.
*Boom!!!*
However, just as he was about to pour more mana into breaking the formation, a deafening explosion roared out, followed by a furious bellow that resounded for tens of thousands of *li*.
“What divine being dares to seize the treasure of this Dragon!”
With a casual strike, the Azure Dragon shattered the mist-veiling formation that concealed his presence. Transforming into a middle-aged man clad in cyan robes, he looked coldly and arrogantly at the Eastern King.
Damn it! The Dragon Clan!
Upon seeing the newcomer, the Eastern King couldn’t help but feel a surge of anger.
He took a deep breath, forcibly suppressing his rage, and said:
“Fellow Daoist, I am the Eastern King. This place holds my destined opportunity.”
The Azure Dragon raised an eyebrow slightly at this, giving him a careful appraisal:
“The Eastern King, the innate deity who bears the Dao of Ultimate Yang. I know of you.”
A flicker of hope stirred in the Eastern King’s heart. Since you know me, this will be easier to resolve. He was about to elaborate.
But the Azure Dragon’s next words left him absolutely furious.
“But this Dragon said it clearly: *this is my treasure*.”
“You…”
The Eastern King flew into a rage, flames flickering in his eyes as he glared fixedly at the Azure Dragon.
They were both innate deities. He himself was at the late Golden Immortal stage, while the Azure Dragon was merely at the mid-stage. How dare he be so insolent!
But this place was the East Sea, a convergence point for the Honghuang’s water veins, which granted no small advantage to the Dragon Clan. With this thought in mind, he once again suppressed his anger and reasoned patiently:
“Fellow Daoist, I have dwelt beside the East Sea since my transformation, and I have long respected the might of the Ancestral Dragon. I wish not to cause strife. This place is indeed my destined opportunity, and it is nearly refined. I ask that you, Fellow Daoist, not bring harm upon yourself.”
“Heh, nearly refined?”
The Azure Dragon scoffed upon hearing the Eastern King’s claim.
“Do you take this Dragon for a fool? This island is clearly under someone else’s control. You are merely forcibly breaking its formation. You claim it’s your opportunity, so let me ask you this: who is the one currently controlling this island?”
The Eastern King was choked with anger, but he had no retort.
I’d damn well like to know who it is too!
The qi mechanism guided him here; this was undeniably his fate. But who knew that his destined opportunity would be stolen right from under his nose?
—
“Fellow Daoist, do you truly refuse to back down?” Since reasoned persuasion failed, the Eastern King’s expression turned cold.
He was a dignified innate deity, and he had his own divine dignity and authority. Although he didn’t want to provoke the Ancestral Dragon, he was no one to be trifled withâespecially by an innate deity whose cultivation was weaker than his own.
“This place is the East Sea. Therefore, everything here belongs to the Dragon Clan.”
Though the Azure Dragon’s realm was inferior to the Eastern King’s, he showed no fear.
“Very well. Then let us settle this through battle.”
The Eastern King’s voice was icy cold. Raising his hand, a bronze bell materialized and crashed down towards the Azure Dragon.
*Dang!!!*
The Jingyang Bellâa lower-grade innate spirit treasure and his accompanying spirit treasure.
Innate spirit treasures naturally embodied the laws of heaven and earth. They were not only excellent tools for subduing enemies and protecting the Dao but also served as reference points for innate deities in their cultivation. In the newly opened heavens, the innate deities had no established cultivation paths; the laws imprinted within innate spirit treasures were undoubtedly their best teachers. Cultivating the Dao was, in essence, learning and mastering these natural laws, incorporating them into oneself to grow stronger.
The more powerful the innate spirit treasure, the more laws and the more complete they were. Thus, many innate deities fought fiercely over powerful innate spirit treasures, all for the sake of better pursuing the Dao. Those blessed with accompanying innate spirit treasures were undoubtedly a step ahead on the path to power.
The Jingyang Bell descended, carrying vast laws. The void trembled, and an invisible wave of force swept out.
He hadn’t refrained from using the Jingyang Bell to strike the formation before. However, the law-force inherent in the bell had done no damage to the formationâit was less effective than simply using the bell itself as a battering ram. This led him to suspect that the deity within the island also possessed a lower-grade innate spirit treasure. This was also why he refused to leave and insisted on breaking the formation.
“A lower-grade innate spirit treasure? You think this Dragon lacks one?”
Seeing the giant bell descending, the Azure Dragon dared not be careless. A small flag materialized above his head.
In the next instant, an azure barrier enveloped the Azure Dragon, swirling with light and profound mystery.
The Cangyuan Water-Controlling Flagâa lower-grade innate spirit treasure capable of gathering water vein power to protect its user.
*Boom!!*
The Jingyang Bell crashed against the flag’s surface, and the boundless law-force shook the void. Ripples spread across the water screen, dissipating the incoming laws.
But the endless sea surrounding them bore the brunt of the impact.
The strike of two near-Golden Immortal level innate deities wielding innate spirit treasures sent violent mana surging, their clashing laws intertwining in layers, raising towering waves millions of *zhang* high. The waves rushed outward violently, sweeping across billions of *li*. Countless sea creatures and spirits were instantly annihilated, reduced to ashes. Pitiful these weak beings were, perishing between heaven and earth without awareness or sensation.
“Hmph! Taste this Dragon’s divine power as well!”
Staggered back tens of thousands of *li* by the strike, the Azure Dragon roared in fury. He responded without mercy with his own killing techniques.
Gripping the flag, the Azure Dragon waved it, pouring in his powerful mana to activate its inherent laws. Instantly, water dragons, formed under the manipulation of the water vein laws, materialized and surged forward with devastating power.
The Eastern King remained unmoved, unleashing a stream of techniques. In the span of a single snap of the fingers, they clashed hundreds of times.
With countless impacts, chaotic laws and frenzied mana shattered the void for billions of *li* around. Spiritual energy was annihilated, and the void turned into black holes, devouring the endless seawater.
“ROAR!!!”
Following another heavy exchange of divine powers, the Azure Dragon was blasted back millions of *li*. His piercing roar resounded through the heavens.
A single drop of blood, radiating dazzling mana, danced in the voidâsometimes evolving celestial laws, sometimes manifesting a divine dragon’s dharma form.
Eventually, this drop of blood fell into the fathomless depths of the sea.
In the ages to come, it would give rise to countless creatures and nurture races bearing latent Dragon Clan bloodlines.
