Chapter 04

Binding the System

This was the first time Su Yuzhi had ever faced a situation like this, and her mind had completely gone blank.

Transmigrating to another world and then being confessed to by an incredibly handsome man—wasn’t that the sort of thing that only happened in dreams?

Although she and her best friend often joked that after the college entrance exams they would finally let loose and date handsome guys, when it actually happened, all she wanted to do was retreat into her shell like a turtle.

She had to devote tremendous effort just to stay near the top of the rankings. There simply wasn’t enough time to maintain the image of someone who barely studied yet always earned outstanding grades.

As a result, Su Yuzhi had never even considered dating.

Occasionally, when she saw couples walking around together, she would only sigh to herself.

They really have so much energy. They can even find time to date on top of studying.

Back in the present, looking at the handsome man kneeling before her, Su Yuzhi had absolutely no idea how to respond.

All she could do was gently poke Claire on the shoulder, signaling for him to stand up first.

Claire obediently rose to his feet.

Only then did Su Yuzhi realize that he was well over 190 centimeters tall. Combined with his handsome face and well-built but not overly bulky physique, he was undeniably pleasing to look at.

If this had happened back in her original world, and such an incredibly handsome man had confessed to her, even if she wasn’t ready to accept him immediately, she would at least have exchanged contact information with him and gotten to know him better.

His wheat-colored skin, broad shoulders, and powerful physique made him look exceptionally strong.

He was easily handsome enough to be a celebrity.

Compared to him, the so-called campus heartthrob at her school wasn’t even in the same league.

But she still hadn’t figured out what kind of world this was.

She could only refuse him despite being deeply moved.

Still, rejecting someone with a face like that required an enormous amount of courage.

“I’m sorry, Claire. I don’t think we know each other well enough yet. Agreeing to something like this now would be far too hasty.”

To her surprise, Claire accepted her answer without any sign of disappointment.

He had already prepared himself for a long pursuit.

Such an adorable female naturally had high standards. There was no way she would be easily won over.

He would prove to her that he was an outstanding male worthy of her.

Smiling casually, he said,

“It’s alright. As long as you don’t reject my pursuit, that’s enough for me.”

His affectionate golden eyes remained fixed on Su Yuzhi.

Under such an intense gaze, the pressure on her became overwhelming.

Her face quickly turned as red as a boiled shrimp.

All she could manage was a tiny,

“Okay.”

Her voice was barely louder than the buzzing of a mosquito.

But beastmen possessed extraordinary hearing.

Claire naturally heard her answer.

“May I know your name?”

“My name is Su Yuzhi.”

“Alright, Zhizhi.”

His deep, magnetic voice carried a faint smile that nearly made her ears melt.

Just then, Witch Doctor Gwen returned after finishing the arrangements.

Looking at the smiling Claire and the blushing Su Yuzhi, she instantly guessed that something had happened between them.

She couldn’t help sighing inwardly.

Young beastmen really are full of energy.

Since there was nothing else to do, Gwen personally led Su Yuzhi and Claire to the place that had been prepared for them in the Leopard Tribe.

Before leaving, Su Yuzhi didn’t forget to grab her small white backpack.

Everything inside it was essential to her survival.

Normally, someone of Gwen’s status wouldn’t need to escort them personally.

She was a highly respected witch doctor, and one of her mates was the Leopard Tribe’s chief.

She only needed to give the order, and someone else would have shown them the way.

But Gwen simply liked Su Yuzhi too much.

Gwen had three mates and eleven leopard cubs.

Not a single one of them was female.

Seeing such an adorable little female naturally filled her with affection.

Females were extremely rare in the beast world.

Regardless of their appearance, they could freely choose whichever males they wanted, so most females had rather ordinary looks.

Since there were far more males than females, females naturally preferred handsome males when choosing mates.

Generation after generation, this meant that most beastmen males became exceptionally handsome.

Those who were unattractive simply left behind fewer descendants.

Because most females looked fairly average, Su Yuzhi’s fair, delicate, doll-like appearance stood out tremendously.

Back in her original world, she would only have been considered a pretty girl.

Females were already incredibly rare, and beautiful females were rarer still.

Even beasts instinctively favored attractive appearances.

That was why Gwen naturally felt drawn to her.

However, Su Yuzhi, who had only just arrived in the beast world, knew nothing about any of this.

She was still caught between the novelty of entering a completely different world and the overwhelming confusion it brought.

As they chatted along the way, they arrived at their destination, and Gwen also learned Su Yuzhi’s name.

The Leopard Tribe was built upstream beside the creek, close to its water source on a broad stretch of land.

Wooden houses lined the area, each constructed from logs with roofs covered in dried grass.

Since beastmen were generally much taller than humans, the houses were built accordingly.

It was afternoon, and most of the leopards were resting indoors, so very few people noticed the newly arrived Su Yuzhi and Claire.

Otherwise, they would probably have been surrounded by curious onlookers.

After all, females were incredibly precious.

The Leopard Tribe had over one hundred adult leopards, yet fewer than ten of them were females.

The house assigned to the two of them was located near the center of the village.

Claire was only fortunate enough to receive such accommodations because of Su Yuzhi.

Since females were so precious, they generally lived in the central area, where they could be better protected and quickly informed if any major events occurred.

The tribal chief assumed that Su Yuzhi and Claire were already mates, so he naturally arranged for them to live together.

Although Claire belonged to a different tribe, it was perfectly normal in the beast world for males to pursue females and then follow them wherever they settled.

After all, the female was considered the head of the household.

Wherever the female lived, that place became the home of all her mates.

And so, Su Yuzhi and Claire ended up living together without realizing it.

However, Su Yuzhi had no idea.

After learning where the house was, Claire instinctively took on the responsibility of hunting for food and immediately left to hunt.

Su Yuzhi assumed he had followed Gwen to his own house.

In reality, males from other tribes were not allowed to own houses within another tribe.

Only after successfully courting a female could they move into her home.

But Su Yuzhi, who knew almost nothing about the beast world, was completely unaware of this custom.

After saying goodbye to Gwen, she carefully closed the door behind her.

Finally alone, the tension she had been holding in for so long slowly melted away.

Before she even had a chance to sort through her thoughts and organize everything that had happened, a voice suddenly echoed inside her mind.
