I will absolutely never let Beatrix become unhappy!! Even if there isn’t a villainess around, the heroines can just go ahead and fall in love amongst themselves anyway. Yep.

Standing in front of Beatrix in her uniform, I mentally fire back a reply to Lilia’s inner voice as she passionately clenches her fists.

Grandpa from my past life, I am so sorry. Back then, whenever the news anchor on TV said “Good afternoon” or “Good evening,” you would always reply out loud with a “Yes, good afternoon” or “Good evening.” I used to always think, ‘Why are you having a conversation with the television?’ But it turns out I definitely inherited your traits, Grandpa.

Ever since I awakened to this mysterious ability, my internal monologues have been off the charts.

While staring slightly blankly into the distance, I somehow manage to keep it together without letting it show on my face. After all, I have a prime example right here of what happens if you let it slip.

The eyes of the passing servants staring at the fired-up Lilia eloquently whispered, ‘She’s being weird again today.’

I definitely don’t want to end up like that. Talk about a perfect negative role model.

Today is finally the day of Beatrix’s entrance ceremony. Having walked out to the entrance hall to see them off, I gaze warmly at Beatrix, who looks quite nervous.

“There’s no need to be so nervous, you’ll be fine. Take a deep breath out, and relax your shoulders.”

As I spoke while gently stroking her beautiful blonde hair, her tiny shoulders dropped in accordance with my voice.

“I’m leaving Beatrix in your hands, Mr. Student Council President?”

Next, I addressed Garnest, who was standing right beside her, and received a dependable nod in response. The way he casually carried his little sister’s luggage for her highlighted what an excellent older brother he was. Garnest, despite being only a second-year student, boasted an overwhelming approval rating and had been appointed Student Council President. My little brother is just too capable.

And then, there was one more person present.

“Even though we’re in different years, Garnest and I will always be ready to lend a hand whenever you run into trouble, so you’ll be perfectly fine, Beatrix.”

A beautiful boy standing alongside the two of them. With platinum blonde hair and eyes like sparkling diamonds, his features were a dead ringer for Tihard’s, save for the fact that his hair was a bit shorter and he was younger. It was Dia, Tihard’s younger brother and the Fourth Prince.

At Dia’s words, Beatrix’s cheeks flushed crimson as she offered her thanks.

Witnessing the expression of a maiden in love right before my eyes, I mentally clutched my chest in pain.

“We should head out soon, or you’ll be late on your very first day. Off you go, Beatrix, Garnest, Dia.”

Hiding my broken heart deep inside, I saw them off.

“I am leaving now, Dearest Brother.”

“We’re off, Brother.”

“I am heading out, Lord Kaiser.”

Offering their respective farewells, the children climbed into the carriage one by one. As they waved to me from the window, I smiled warmly and waved back, watching until the carriage vanished into the distance.

Now then, this seems like a good place to talk about the capture targets.

In the otome game The Regalia of the Ruined Empire and the Treasure of the Kingdom, there are six capture targets in total. For the record, I am excluding the character from the hidden-hidden route whose existence is unconfirmed.

To begin with, the two individuals who currently have the closest ties to Beatrix.

The first is my younger brother, Garnest.

He is the heir of the ducal house, and in the game’s setting, he was the arrogant, narcissistic character type. His Trait is “Fire.” Despite being the second son, he was destined to inherit the ducal house in place of his “Powerless,” underwhelming older brother (yes, that’s me). Having been constantly put on a pedestal and compared to his brother from a young age, the result was a character who struggled to emphasize with others and tended to look down on those beneath him.

Appearance-wise, he has blonde hair and burning garnet eyes. To be completely honest, during my playthrough, his arrogant attitude really rubbed me the wrong way. I used to think that if his theme was a garnet and he was going to be an arrogant prince-type, they should have just given him red hair instead.

But now, I think blonde hair is absolutely perfect! Both Garnest and Beatrix are literal angels. So it makes total sense that they have blonde hair! I am completely on board with it now.

While his narcissism bothered me personally, arrogant and forceful character types possess an incredibly enduring popularity among women, and he happened to be the favorite character of my second oldest sister in my past life. With immense decisiveness and action-oriented drive, his forceful gestures like the kabedon (wall-slam) and agokui (chin-lift) made him a wildly popular main hero.

The real Garnest, however…

Is a total angel!!

Although he is still in the middle of growing up, he is already a handsome boy whose future masculine, dashing features are incredibly easy to picture. Unlike the game, he isn’t arrogant at all, though his strong will and a touch of that forceful drive remain somewhat intact. He can be straightforward and driven by emotion at times, but that proactive nature is part of his charm, isn’t it?

And above all, he is incredibly attached to me!!

Looking down on and despising his “Powerless” older brother?

Huh? He looks at me with the most sparkling, adoring eyes imaginable, thank you very much.

Furthermore, he has built an excellent relationship with his little sister, Beatrix, despite their terrible dynamic in the game. Unlike his compliant attitude toward me, he can be a bit blunt with her, but when all is said and done, he is always looking out for his sister and protecting her. Since they are only a year apart in age, their closeness means they occasionally bicker, but that’s just proof of how well they get along.

And the number one cause of those squabbles? That would be me. They fight over who gets to monopolize their beloved older brother.

What are they, literal angels? Big brother is so incredibly happy!!

The second person is Dia, who is also a childhood friend.

A genuine prince through and through, Dia was the serious, straight-laced character type in the game’s setting. His Trait is “Trait Nullification.” He was also raised in the shadow of an older brother. While Dia himself is highly competent, he was constantly compared to the First Prince, Tihard, who excelled at absolutely everything to an even greater degree. As a result, Dia grew up severely lacking in self-confidence.

Appearance-wise, he is the spitting image of his older brother, Tihard, with brilliant platinum blonde hair and diamond eyes. Character-wise, he is upright, honest, and dedicated to constant effort. But despite his beautiful looks and royal status as a prince, his popularity among female players seemed to struggle—perhaps because he had very few sweet, romantic scenes. …Though he scored high marks in my book.

The real Dia, however…

Remains just as upright and honest as he was in the game… though I feel he has a slightly better personality than his digital counterpart…

With a prince-like face identical to Tihard’s and a serious disposition, he also possesses a calm and cautious side, making him an excellent partner who complements his friend Garnest perfectly.

In the game, his relationship with my family wasn’t very good, but because Tihard and I are best friends, we’ve known each other since childhood. He looks up to me immensely, and just like Tihard, honorifics are strictly forbidden outside of official settings. To quote his reasoning: “Since Brother, who is to become King, doesn’t use honorifics with you, it would be bizarre for me, the younger brother, to address you with ‘Lord’.”

To me, he feels like another younger brother.

That very Dia became close with Garnest and Beatrix as well. Since our kids aren’t the arrogant narcissist or the spoiled princess from the game, they are absolute angels, after all.

And now… for the most noteworthy change of all.

Dia has, against all odds, fallen in love with Beatrix at first sight.

Let me tell you, it happened in a single fraction of a second. The very moment he came over to visit our estate and met her for the first time, young Dia’s face flushed bright red. His diamond eyes locked instantly onto the equally young Beatrix.

Well, Beatrix is incredibly cute, so I get it.

While his upright and honest personality remains intact, unlike his game counterpart who suffered from an inferiority complex and lacked confidence—and was far removed from any sense of romantic sweetness—the real Dia openly displays his affection. It seems Beatrix fell in love with him in return. They are truly an incredibly harmonious match.

Big brother is so incredibly sad!!

It’s not that I have any complaints about Dia. If anything, I think he is the perfect person to entrust my precious little sister to. He respects me, treasures my siblings, and his status and abilities are thoroughly royal.

But that is an entirely separate matter from my feelings!

I never imagined my adorable little sister would fall in love so early, long before the game’s timeline even officially begins!! If anything, I had hoped with every passing minute and second that this day would be delayed as long as possible…

While I truly wish for my cute sister’s happiness, every time I am forced to witness their lovey-dovey interactions, big brother’s heart takes critical, near-fatal damage.

Please, I beg you, don’t get married just yet!!
