Chapter – 05
0.01 Centimeters.
Lynn had no time to argue with these two idiot gods.
At a life-or-death moment, his thinking was exceptionally clear.
Fighting was definitely out of the questionâRena had several skills, plus the Seraph’s blessing. On what basis could he fight this Holy Flame Maiden?
Begging for mercy wouldn’t work either. He’d already been branded a “traitor to humanity” by Rena, and the righteous and devout Rena wouldn’t possibly let him off.
So, he could neither actually fight nor beg for mercy.
He had to bluff and convince her!
Going all inâputting all his remaining points into [Silver Tongue]!
[Due to your character level being too low, only 300 points were used to upgrade the skill ‘Silver Tongue.’ Silver Tongue Lv.4 â Silver Tongue Lv.5]
Damn it!
Because his character level was too low, the skill [Silver Tongue] could only be upgraded to Lv.5, leaving 400 points unused!
At this point, Lynn had no choice but to accept the outcome.
Hopefully, it would be enough.
Skill [Silver Tongue], activate!
The words Lynn spoke now carried a certain degree of persuasive power:
“Hold it!”
He stood up with full momentum, confronting Rena, his eyes fierce as he barked:
“The newly appointed Holy Flame Maiden of the Papal Court, Rena Leonard Sisletâyou think *you* can kill me?!”
Instantly, Rena was stunned, frozen in place:
“Y-You… how do you know my identity?!
Who exactly are you?!”
After shocking Rena with a single sentence, Lynn remained on edge:
“I not only know who you are, but I also know why you’re here.”
Rena grew even more surprised but shook her head slightly:
“You really are strange, but even if you recognize me, there’s absolutely no way you know the purpose of my visit.”
This assassination mission was top secret; Rena didn’t believe Lynn knew about it.
But what Lynn said next instantly made her question everything:
“Aren’t you here to assassinate Galron?”
Rena’s face turned pale: “H-How… how is that… possible? What kind of special ability do you possess?!”
“I possess a power you cannot comprehend,” Lynn said casually. “And I know everything about you.”
Rena: “…”
“You know *everything* about me?!”
The girl instantly blushedâknowing everything meant… knowing *everything*!
Seeing Rena’s reaction, Lynn wished he could slap himself. He’d overdone the act!
Anyone would feel panicked and uneasy hearing a stranger claim to know everything about them.
In reality, Lynn only knew the information he could see.
“Uh… I mean, I know your identity, your strength, and your purpose,” Lynn quickly added, hoping she wouldn’t overthink.
Rena still held her sword warily: “You have some kind of special detection skill? It’s probably just a detection skill, rightâyou don’t actually have combat ability, do you?”
Lynn currently indeed lacked combat power; Rena could run him through with one strike.
Facing Rena’s counter-probing, Lynn wasn’t falling for it:
“I admit, right now, my combat power is roughly on par with yours. That’s why I didn’t want to fight you and initially chose to pretend I was under your control.
If we were to start fighting now, neither of us would gain the upper hand. We’d only expose ourselves and then, in this underground dungeon teeming with monsters, both of us would end up dead.”
ă’Entertainment to the Death’ greatly appreciates your ability to bluff and has tipped you 100 points.]
ă’Pure Love Invincible’ curses you, you liar, for deceiving Rena again.]
ăSeraph, God of Sequence 10, has entered your channel. He is watching you!]
“Seraph”?!
He is the god Rena worships and the one who provides her with protection.
He’s watching me… what does that mean?
Is he forbidding me from deceiving Rena?
Then wouldn’t I die by Rena’s sword?!
Lynn wasn’t afraid of godsâafter all, gods couldn’t directly interfere with reality, but Rena’s sword could certainly cut him down.
Facing Lynn’s bluster, combined with the effect of the [Silver Tongue] skill, Rena no longer wanted to kill him, but she didn’t put her sword down either:
“So… you weren’t captured by the goblins?”
“Of course I was captured by them,” Lynn replied calmly. “Just like youâI let myself get captured on purpose.”
“Huh? You’re also infiltrating? For what purpose?” Rena grew even more confused. “Who exactly are you?”
Lynn, of course, hadn’t infiltrated anythingâhe’d been unluckily captured. His only goal was to escape from here!
He obviously couldn’t tell such an honest truth directly:
“Who I am and what my purpose is doesn’t matter. What matters is that you and I are not enemies.”
Lynn’s displayed uniqueness, along with his words, finally made Rena’s killing intent fade, and the tip of her sword dropped.
Her primary mission here was to assassinate Galron; if she exposed herself by fighting Lynn, the loss would outweigh the gain.
If Lynn was telling the truth and he wasn’t genuinely a traitor who had defected to the demon race, then there wasn’t even a need to kill him…
The longsword in Rena’s hand vanished.
At the same time:
ăMain Quest ‘Survive the Desperate Situation’ Completed!]

Go to hell… Lynn cursed under his breath.
He didn’t care about these two gods’ random evaluations.
He quickly skimmed through his own statsâhe really was a rookie.
Rena’s stats were almost three times his!
So, Rena really could one-shot him.
Comparing his and Rena’s data, Lynn noticed two major differences.
First, unlike Rena, he had no faith and no blessing.
What could he do? He came from Blue Star and believed in Marx…
However, since he was now in this world, it was inevitable to follow local customs. Believing in a god wasn’t a bad thing, and he could get a blessing too.
If he only knew how to go about it, Lynn would pick a god to believe in right away.
Of course, except for those two idiots “Entertainment to the Death” and “Pure Love Invincible”!
The second obvious difference between his and Rena’s data was:
Rena didn’t have the “Fans” or “Points” categories.
Lynn guessed that having these two items was related to his traits of being a “Transmigrator” and a “Streamer.”
If a god entered his channel, that god was his fan.
Being noticed by gods earned him points, skills, and other rewards, so gaining followers was indeed useful.
The usefulness of points went without saying…
“Lynn?!” Rena saw Lynn suddenly dazed and felt a pang of anxiety, worried that Lynn might be plotting something.
“Ah…” Lynn snapped out of it. “What’s wrong?”
Rena’s expression turned serious: “Since we each have our own identities and purposes, why don’t we lay our cards on the table?
Originally, I planned to use ‘Obedience Potion’ to control you and have you help me assassinate Galron.
Obviously, the plan to control you failed.
But I’m not giving up on the assassination plan.
I want your unconditional cooperation.”
“Heh, you sure are tyrannical, Holy Maiden.” Lynn teased.
Rena sneered: “You know too much about me. If you don’t agree, then we’ll have to fight.”
“You dare to fight? We’re both in the same boat.”
“So what? I’d rather go down fighting.”
“You’re ruthless.” Lynn didn’t want to go down fighting with Rena; it wasn’t worth it. “Help you assassinate Galron, right? That’s not impossible, but you have to do something for me too.”
“What is it? As long as I can do it.”
“I’ll tell you the specifics when the time comes.”
Lynn wasn’t deliberately being mysterious.
The only thing he wanted Rena to help with was to get him out after the assassination was done.
But he couldn’t say it nowâif he did, wouldn’t that let Rena know his true situation?
Rena readily agreed; as long as the assassination succeeded, other matters could be discussed.
The negotiations were going relatively smoothly.
Thump! Thump! Thump!â
The door was suddenly knocked on.
Lynn’s expression changed, and he urgently said to Rena:
“Quick, get on the bed!”
Rena: “???!!!”
Whoosh!â
Furious and embarrassed, Rena summoned her sword, its cold gleam flashing.
That sword was now only 0.01 centimeters away from Lynn’s throat!
