One More Person

“Huuuuhhh?!”

“Ughhh…”

After Aria-chan left, we had dinner, and now the three of us are bathing together.

In the middle of that, Mother’s teasing voice echoed through the bathroom, and Father looked down awkwardly.

“You didn’t even notice Hikari had such cute makeup on?!”

“I’m so sorry, Hikari! Please forgive your father for not noticing!”

“Father?”

I used to be a guy too, so I understand not noticing makeup.

However, now that I’m Hikari-chan, I’ve learned something. It’s surprisingly shocking when no one notices!

“Honestly, and I went to all that trouble to do her makeup.”

“Hikari, Filiya, please forgive your father!”

This husband would definitely be henpecked if he lived in Japan.

“What do you want to do, Hikari?”

She hugged me, stroked my head, and asked gently in my ear.

“I forgive you!”

I am a bit shocked, but if I were my past self, I probably wouldn’t have noticed either.

Mother passed me over to Father, and he gave me a gentle, tight hug.

“So she’s at the age where they hire tutors, then?”

“That’s right. And Hikari said she wants to read books with Aria-chan too, so I’m thinking of looking for a tutor a year early.”

I’m not sure why five is the standard age, but it’s probably like the elementary school enrollment age in my past life—some kind of similar unspoken rule.

“If Hikari wants to study, I think that’s wonderful.”

“Then I’ll have Muse select a few candidates tomorrow.”

“Please do?”

After finishing that business-like exchange, the atmosphere relaxed.

And then—

“Is she diligent like you, I wonder?”

“No, she’s serious like Filiya, I’m sure.”

(Ugh!)

They started flirting.

But strangely enough, it makes me feel incredibly happy.

Mother held me in her arms, and Father placed his hand on Mother’s waist and drew closer. It gives me a sense of security, just like in Japan.

“Hikari’s going to be a big sister too, so it would be nice if you could be a good role model, right?”

“Yes!”

(That’s right, I’m going to be a big sister… wait, what?)

Big sister?

“Mother, is Hikari going to be a big sister?”

I asked before I could fully process it.

“That’s right? There’s a baby in my tummy, you know?”

“Amazing!”

Wait, seriously?! I, Hikari-chan, am going to be a big sister!

“Hikari will study hard! I’m going to be a good big sister!”

“That’s my Hikari! I suppose I’ll have to work hard at my duties too, won’t I?”

“Then maybe I should expand my store operations?”

“No way. You can’t push yourself when you have a baby in your belly.”

“Hehe, I know that.”

I always imagined them being together all the time, but from the sound of it, Mother is the president of some chain store somewhere.

And Father is a count, so he manages his territory.

Whoa—Hikari-chan’s family is seriously loaded.

“Should we get out soon?”

“Yes, let’s. Hikari, let’s get out too!”

“Okay!”

Our family bath time came to an end. Father dried my whole body with a towel, and the three of us returned to the room.

(Hmm? Isn’t Father usually not in this room?)

I thought he slept with Mother and woke up with her.

“Father?”

“Oh, right. I always come in after Hikari falls asleep and leave before she wakes up, so you wouldn’t know.”

“Children need to sleep well and wake up slowly, after all.”

Mother picked me up and brought me up to Father’s eye level.

“Sometimes I’d like us all to say goodnight together, wouldn’t you?”

“Yeah!”

I had no idea, but apparently Father also sleeps here.

Well, a child’s stamina can’t handle staying up as late as adults do.

“Muse, Chal, you can finish up your duties for today a little early. You two take it easy.”

“Thank you very much, Master.”

“Understood.”

“Goodnight!”

“Goodnight, Lady Hikari.”

“Ah, an angel!”

After saying a word to Chal and Muse, the two of them left the room.

“Yaaawn…”

Before I knew it, I was sleepy enough to yawn. With unsteady steps, I slowly made my way to the bed.

“Hikari, shall we get in together with Father?”

“Okay.”

Father picked me up, and his swaying steps made me even sleepier. Before I even got into bed, I was already breathing the soft breaths of sleep.
